Swans migrating. I saw my first, enormous flock today, looking unbelievably white against a deep blue sky.
Sun. Sun!
Mud. (And muddy dogs.)
And, oh yeah, "Joseph": Seven performances over the next two weekends. I am one of Pharaoh's "adoring girls", and will be dressed in something resembling a table-cloth. (At one point, it probably was a table-cloth.)
I'm also involved in an upcoming conference on heritage architecture, and I spent this morning figuring out the route for a photography tour I'm planning. Wandering around some gorgeous old places with the sun beating down was a perfect antidote to the winter blahs. My knees aren't thanking me for it tonight, but it was definitely worth it.
It's still cold, still snowy, but colour and brightness are beginning to break through.

There are hints of spring around here, too, Helen. Some small green sprouts on the dead-looking clematis vines, a tight-packed bunch of daffodils, still flowerless, spearing up through the duff, and the two pairs of Bewicks wrens that flit around our gardens flitting a whole lot more. The little males are singing like there's no tomorrow. They have the most beautiful song ...
Do you know, I never knew that swans did anything but glide around all stately at city parks until I went to Germany? It was there I saw my first flocks of swans, winging across the sky, way up there, like organized snowflakes. I was utterly charmed, Stood there with my mouth hanging open. They are gorgeous, aren't they.
I hope you have a blast in "Joseph," even if you do have to wear a tablecloth. What fun! Will there be a video clip(s) we can watch?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, stay warm...

The photography tour sounds like it will be cool. Hope your knees hold up better next time :)
Spring is in full-force here. I've been pulling weeds from my strawberry patch, and from around my roses and lavender. My daughters got their garden plots ready to plant some peas. Right now I can hear the frogs. With the windows closed it sounds kinda nice, but when we open the door and step outside, it's deafening.
Good luck in Joseph!
Oh dear - I spoke much too soon, it appears! We had a big winter storm yesterday and now everything's back to grey and white and messy. It's nearly March, though, so it can't last for too long!
I can't wait until I start to see bits of green poke through as you both are. And the frogs - WarmSocks, I know what you mean. They sound nice at first, but when you actually go outside, they're incredibly loud!
